Mr. Gruber obtained store cards from two different New York token makers, Charles Horter and Emil Sigel.  The dies for this token were created by Horter.  This very rare variety is struck over an 1863 Indian cent.  Excellent understrike details are visible with magnified inspection.  This is a gem quality copper-nickel token that was previously in the collection of Dave Bowers and it is housed in one of his signature holders.
